What you do:

As assigned by your supervisor or a technician from a higher group, perform duties associated with maintaining broadcasting and transmission systems/equipment, such as function-testing, configuring, installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and refurbishing, according to established standards, in a multidisciplinary environment that includes networking, electronics, and computer systems.

You will also be asked to recommend new procedures. Your duties will be extremely varied, as you will work with technologies ranging from conventional analog to the latest digital servers.

Hours of work: 24/7 operations, days, evenings and nights, from Monday to Sunday.

We’re looking for a candidate who has the following:

  • College diploma (DCS) in electronics technology (audiovisual, telecommunications or computing systems option) or a relevant field;
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience required, owing to the multidisciplinary environment;
  • Hands-on experience with telecommunications, broadcasting, transmission and satellite reception equipment;
  • Valid driver’s licence (you will be required to regularly operate snowmobiles and ATVs);
  • Available to travel all over Quebec, including Nunavik;
  • Available to work a 24/7 schedule including days, evenings and nights, 7 days per week;
  • Very good knowledge of French (both spoken and written);
  • Knowledge of English considered an asset.

OTHERS:

  • External candidates must write a four-hour entrance exam for the technical unit;
  • Other, subsequent selection tests will be held, if applicable;
  • Candidates shall supply a copy of their diploma and transcript(s).

Candidates will be subject to skills testing.
