Your Role:
You will administer the terms of the CBC Pension Plan and the Pension Benefits Standards Acts and regulation (PBSA). Key to this position is to provide expert advise and high-quality, punctual one-stop service to all levels of management, employees and pensioners in specific aspects of pension administration. You will also provide administrative support to the Manager, Pension Plan Administration.
Key Activities:
- Respond in both official languages to requests from employees, managers and pensioners; ensure complete and accurate records.
- Manage the accurate calculation of pension and buyback estimates.
- Implement collective agreement settlements and corporate policy changes with regards to pension eligibility and buyback provisions.
- Undertake detailed and complex researchs and analyses of employee data.
- Assist in the operation of pension systems and electronic data; processing to ensure functional quality and integrity and compliance with the CBC Pension Plan.
- Assist in the production and distribution of legislated communications to employees.
- Coordinate flexpen process for Pension Plan members and coordinate the year-end process.
- Document processes and provide recommendations; keep staff and management informed about procedures by putting the right tools at their disposal and instruct on the use of the various tools.
- Work closely with the Pension Administration Centre (PAC) to ensure proper coordination of data and case processing. Work in tandem with various internal services to supply accurate information.
- Perform the annual pensioner audit; track responses and receipt of required documents; initiate research and provide statistics.
Your Profile:
- Excellent knowledge of the terms of the CBC Pension Plan, relevant pension legislation and CBC collective agreements, VIP processes and system’s capabilities, CRA rules and regulations and specific by-laws of the Corporation.
- Experience with pension and payroll, and in analyzing data.
- Excellent word, Excel and Q & E skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills, to deal with high volume, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Creativity to assist with the creation of concepts and approaches and conduct research.
- Must exercise sound judgment, autonomy, initiative and absolute discretion.
- Absolute requirement for accuracy and attention to detail at all times.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Team working skills.
- Bilingualism (French and English), oral and written, is essential.
