Responsible for the strategic development and implementation of content training solutions for English Services – TV, Radio and Digital Programming. This includes providing needs analysis, and establishing training and evaluation standards to ensure training is relevant and of a consistent superior standard. This position plays a pivotal role in meeting Corporate needs for Content training and skills development.
What’s the role?
- Participates in English Services Training strategic planning to promote effective learning strategies. Initiates and facilitates discussion around priority issues and challenges.
- Creates open dialogue and team building.
- Provides leadership in areas of program/skill specialties.
- Determines scope and budgets for project requirements, delegating projects to appropriate Project Leaders/Instructors and ultimately ensuring program delivery.
- Works with e-learning manager to create on-line training where appropriate.
- Measures and evaluates the performance and effectiveness of learning projects.
- Collaborates with internal and external instructors, training institutions and organizations, and industry specialists, in order to provide appropriate and effective learning interventions for CBC.
- Identifies, develops, delegates and manages assignments and productivity of internal/external Instructors, subject matter experts, project leaders and others when working on training and/or development initiatives.
- Provides feedback and recommendations to operations supervisors for use in performance management and staff development
- Ensures training staff keeps current with new technologies and techniques and are provided with the necessary tools and skills to carry out their tasks.
What you bring:
- University degree or equivalent in television or radio production.
- Minimum 3 years experience in training and development activities.
- Strong financial management skills and experience.
- Strong needs analysis, program design, and development and evaluation experience (certificate in related subjects asset).
- In-depth knowledge of training methodologies and procedures
- Strong facilitation, consulting and negotiating skills
- Effective and tactful communication skills
- Ability to work with individuals in a diverse group and at all levels of the Corporation.
- Superior organizational, analytical and planning skills to effectively manage multiple projects/initiatives from all departments
- Ability to exercise judgment, problem solve and respond spontaneously when collaborating with other departments
- Understanding of CBC culture, HR Management and change management principles required.
