Reporting to the Senior Manager, Telecommunications, as Senior Network Analyst you will be responsible for the operation, management and evolution of the Corporation’s complex telecommunications infrastructure.
To this end, you will oversee and participate in network planning and design tasks/projects to ensure that the corporate telecommunications infrastructure evolves with the organization’s requirements. You will troubleshoot moderate to complex problems that crop up in the course of your work, while providing ongoing coaching, training, leadership and support to intermediate/entry level staff members handling day-to-day network support activities.
You will also be responsible for developing detailed designs for clients. You will work with other technical groups to translate clients’ business requirements into technology solutions, and collaborate on new technology implementations with those groups as well as with staff members responsible for network support.
You will bring your communications skills to bear in effectively communicating technical and non-technical issues to other technical groups as well as clients and service providers, and in keeping management apprised of the status of all activities and assignments.
One (1)-year contract position with possibility of renewal.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
- Diploma of college studies (DEC) or equivalent (bachelor’s degree in Information Systems an asset);
- Five (5) years’ experience supporting and configuring switches, routers, firewalls and IPSs;
- Cisco Certification;
- Juniper Certification;
- Excellent knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switch configuration;
- Very good practical knowledge of LAN cabling networks (fiber-optic and copper);
- Proficiency in all aspects of LANs, servers, workstations and networked peripherals, including hub stations, switches and cabling systems;
- Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada as well as its telecommunications policies and standards (an asset);
- Practical and technical knowledge of network control and troubleshooting tools, e.g., protocol analyzers and network management systems (an asset);
- Familiarity with the Maison de Radio-Canada LAN infrastructure and topologies (an asset);
- Bilingual (English, French);
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) are required to communicate with the user community, management and team members.
- You must be able to clearly and concisely explain CBC/Radio-Canada objectives and requirements;
- Willing to travel occasionally;
- On a rotating basis with other technical support employees, you will be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (including weekends and holidays).
