Great post by David McKie on getting info out of the gov’t
For those who don’t use access to information requests to try to extract records from federal government departments, agencies and crown corporations (like the CBC), “Section 69” is the ultimate back-breaker. It’s the number that means the record you demanded using the access to information law has been dumped into a black hole, never to be seen again.
The government uses it when it doesn’t want to give you any records. And you don’t even have the right to appeal to the information commissioner.
