The CBC’s version of prime time sketch comedy, The Royal Canadian Air Farce has been an embarrassment from the moment the group moved off radio and on to television. Brains turn to oatmeal within minutes of exposure to the lamest jokes imaginable.
Would it have killed the CBC to have given us a Trailer Park Boys New Year’s Eve?
Yes, yes it would.
This clip, the epitome of Air Farce canned hilarity, is ideally suited for children. And by children, we mean toddlers. They would love it. Particularly as it gives expression to their deep displeasure with the Harmonized Sales Tax, and understandable frustration over hockey franchise allocation.

The Air Farce was funny once upon a time… on radio… around 1982?
If you tape your show with a live audience and still need canned laughter……maybe comedy just isn’t your thing.
A show only the CBC could love.
The Air Farce is so played out …
AUDIENCE : How played out are they?
They’re so played out that more than 50% of TV managers think they are awesome!
This show could only survive on government handouts. It should come with a warning about inducing cringes. Eeep!
