Yesterday was the last day for the design department.
As of today, June first, it’s gone. That’s it.
It’s been a bitter, painful, drawn-out goodbye. On the last day there was only deathly silence from all corners, a strange contrast to the exuberant “Flying Higher” of just a few days before. You’d almost think they wanted to sneak you out the back door without anyone noticing.
But I noticed. I’ve written about it a few times over the last year, and don’t have anything left to say except:
Thanks for all the wonderful, beautiful work over the years. You were a big part of the heart of the CBC and you deserve better than this.

Damned shame, is all I have to say on the subject.
Dream Factory, R.I.P.
Should never have explained that green-screen effect to the accounting department.
Now the Media Guild and Actra better hope the bean-counters don’t find out about talking avatars.
(though it sure would be fun to have a cartoon of version of you, Ouimet, interviewing a live version of Rabinovitch)
