"entirely innuendo"

Lanny Davis is very touchy about the Clintons, and will not suffer idle remarks.
Especially from The Current.

I overheard that interview, and I just about recoiled from the radio in shock. I’ve not heard a reaction of that sort since Henry Kissinger walked out on Anna Maria Tremonti. Who had the better case for their reaction to the questions asked of them is, of course, a matter for debate.

He does seem a bit rabid.
But he puts a focus on how people have a tendency to blurt out phrases they’ve heard or read, without thinking it through.
The description given of the Clintons in the intro seems a bit like a series of cliches.
Why are we being led to be suspicious of Bill and Hilary?
The host did not craft the intro very thoughtfully.
I think Davis was fair to call the host on making glib remarks during a serious broadcast.
If he had pretended that he hadn’t heard it, and made no acknowledgement, it would have given listeners the impression that he was going along with the characterization.
I’ve read both of their books, and they seem like two very straightforward decent people.
So it would be interesting to know what the host is actually thinking of when she uses the term “baggage”.

Now, that Ghomeshi, he knows how to write an intro! It’s one of his many talents.

I have to review the tapes, but I think that later guest David Paul Kuhn or Robert Kuttner typifed Mr. Lanny Davis as very, very litigious and a confirmed Clintonite.

These appendices interviews aren’t transcripted by the National Post in their “Full Comment” blog posting. Selective edited by Canwest again. Every editor to the lifeboats!
