Your Role:

Under the supervision of the Director, Media Relations and Issues Management, manages the writing and publishing services on behalf of various components of CBC/Radio-Canada. Collaborates with Corporate and media lines Communications Professionals to ensure consistent messaging and ensure superior writing and coherence in all written texts.

Key activities:

  • Manages the drafting of correspondence on behalf of the Chair, President and Senior Management;
  • Manages the planning, research, writing, translation, proofreading and publishing of major Corporate publications (Annual Report, Corporate Business Plan, communications vehicles such as correspondence pamphlets, notes to staff, news releases, addresses to employees, newsletter articles, etc).
  • Manages the review and editing of high profile reports and documents.
  • Develops processes and sets standards in order to manage efficiently and effectively writing and publishing requirements.
  • Ensures effective quality control mechanisms are in place in regards to communications products.
  • Provides guidance in regards to the development of Corporate communications tools and products.
  • Directs and manages the development of multi-faceted communications products to maximize the CBC/Radio-Canada’s visibility.
  • Tracks progress and success of all communications initiatives
  • Responsible for the supervision of employees.

Your Profile:

  • University degree in communications or related discipline and / or college diploma
  • Minimum of 10 years work experience in the communication field
  • Excellent command of the French and the English languages, oral and written
  • Knowledge of communications vehicles and their differences
  • Superior knowledge of grammar and syntax, communications theories, systems and processes
  • Strong managerial skills
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Good knowledge of broadcast industry and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Strong computer skills – Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Internet
  • Good knowledge of graphic standards, publishing and printing options.
