As Regional Lineup Editor for the English News of CBC in Montreal, you will report to the CBC News Director, English Services. You will be responsible for the lineup of regional newscasts and will supervise on-air presentation. You will also determine story angles, as well as write copy, headlines and intros for reports. Finally, you will prepare live hits with reporters and as needed act as a television and radio newsreader.
We’re looking for a candidate with the following:
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent.
- Five (5) years’ journalism degree or the equivalent.
- Extensive general knowledge.
- In-depth knowledge of current events and regional realities.
- Fluency in the working language (English).
- Excellent knowledge of the other official language (French).
- Solid command of communication techniques specific to the medium.
- Thorough knowledge of newsroom logistics.
- Knowledge of production techniques.
- Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices.
Candidates may be subject to skills testing.
