What You Do:
As a Producer for The Hour you will plan, conceive, organize, and/or develop the production and realization of a program segment, program, or series while adhering to CBC journalistic and/or program policies, standards and practices. You are ultimately responsible for developing the program content including assigning, researching, gathering, writing and/or editing and determining, the style, pace, tempo, line-up and format of the program. You will direct talent, sound and/or image and ensure, in collaboration with Copyright Clearance Officers or others, the proper and accurate clearance of all material used in the program.
What You Bring:
- A University Degree or equivalent.
- 5 years experience of which three must involve work in broadcasting or a closely related industry, which is directly related to the area of assignment (namely, directly related television network, program, or station promo production experience) are required.
- A broad understanding and interest of contemporary cultural, social and political issues.
- A keen interest in finding new ways to creatively push the look of the program.
- Strong writing and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to produce high impact creative program that will effectively communicate key message(s).
- The ability to work with and direct graphic artists, music and other video specialty professionals, both internally and externally.
- The ability to work flexible hours and function well in a hectic, sometimes stressful environment.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities and simultaneous projects.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
