*Please note this is a temporary position, filling in for a 1 year maternity leave beginningAugust, 2010.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative professional with the ability to contribute their talents to the Radio 3 team.

Function:

With appropriate direction from one or more Producers, participates in the production, direction and/or postproduction of a program and/or program segment. Work must adhere to CBC journalistic and/or program policies, practices and standards but initiative and independent judgment are required. There is often a requirement to co-ordinate the activities of others.

Skills Required:

  • High level of audio editing and mixing skills – needs to work proficiently with Adobe Audition (or equivalent software) to edit music, audio, sfx into weekly podcasts
  • Mix and master sound by using the audio software T-Racks
  • Able to use Photoshop to edit photos
  • Knowledge of social media tools like Facebook, Myspace and Twitter/TweetDeck/Hootsuite
  • Blogging experience preferred
  • Expertise in the area of Canadian independent music is essential

Education Required:

  • Job requires a university degree or equivalent.

Experience Required:

  • Job requires a minimum of two years’ relevant experience during which the candidate would gain exposure to journalism, computers and the technology of radio or television broadcasting.
