What You Do:
- Reporting to the Executive Producer, you will primarily be responsible for studio directing and the production of Radio 2 Drive, five days a week.
- You must have a deep knowledge of popular music in a range of genres that include singer/songwriter, roots and pop with particular knowledge of Canadian artists and compositions.
- To be successful in this role, you must have the ability to self operate in an analogue studio, as well as to direct the Host.
- Working under the direction of one or more Producers, you will contribute to music selection, story meetings and produce and edit items for Drive (in particular live music studio sessions).
- Other duties include logging shows in iNews, producing promos and updating the blog and the Hot Sheet with program highlights.
What You Bring:
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
- A university degree or equivalent; a degree in Music or Journalism is an asset.
- Minimum of two years’ relevant experience.
- Proven track record in digitizing audio into various digital formats.
- Experience working with digital audio editing software.
- Strong production, writing and script editing skills.
- Ability to operate an analog studio.
- Ability to direct talent in studio.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian music scene with particular emphasis on the singer-songwriter genre.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
- Ability to creatively bring new ideas to the show.
