CBC/Radio-Canada is Canada’s national public broadcaster and one of its largest cultural institutions. Each day, CBC/Radio-Canada informs, enlightens and entertains in French, English and eight Aboriginal languages. In addition, Radio Canada International airs programming around the globe in French, English and five other languages.
Reporting to the Program Manager for Quebec City, you will cover the Quebec City arts scene, present live reports, commentate on events, and conduct interviews. You will be responsible for doing research, gathering news, as well as suggesting interview topics and story angles. You will converse regularly with other team members during the broadcast.
For reference purposes, this position is assigned to the program Première heure, 5:30-9 a.m. on weekdays
We’re looking for a candidate with the following:
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent
- Three (3) years’ relevant experience
- Extensive general knowledge
- Very good knowledge of arts and entertainment, especially the Quebec City scene
- Good knowledge of current events
- Fluent in French
- Very good knowledge of the other official language
- Solid command of communication techniques specific to the medium, as well as interview techniques
- Comfortable conversing on air with other team members
- Valid driver’s licence
Candidates may be subject to skills testing.
