Associate Producer, "All in a Day", English Radio – OTT00846

This is a permanent part-time position working Thursdays and Fridays on All in a Day.

As the Associate producer for the show, you will contribute ideas for program content and participate in the preparation of program objectives. You will obtain studios, crews, lines, uplinks, remotes and other technical and production resources required by the program on behalf of all Producers and freelancers and assist in developing program content including writing, researching, and/or editing. You will prepare scripts and ensure adherence to the style and format of the program. You will also organize the participation of interviewees, creative contributors and other participants, develop background, introduction, and line of questioning, conduct or arranges for any necessary research, and ensure the briefing of hosts.

You will maintain contact files, process invoices and obtain authorizing signatures as required and you will paticipate in the evaluation of all aspects of the production.

What you bring:

  • University degree or equivalent, with at least 2 years related experience
  • Demonstrated ability to research and gather information from a variety of sources.
  • Demonstrated ability to write for radio.
  • A strong news sense with an awareness of contemporary political, economic, cultural and social issues of importance to this community.
  • Good technical and production skills, an aptitude for editing on DALET and excellent computer skills.
  • Demonstrated technical skills such as recording interviews in studio, recording two-ways, etc.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices.
  • This is an English-language position. Ability to speak, read and write in French would be an asset.
  • A valid driver’s license is an asset.
  • A career objective as a radio producer.
