Your Role:

We’re looking for a seasoned associate producer with excellent research skills to work on C’est ça la vie, a one-hour, live weekday program produced in Ottawa. The show was created to reflect Canada’s vitality by featuring passionate and inspiring people, as well as new and interesting places and phenomena. It provides a wide-open window for Radio-Canada viewers on the richness, challenges and distinctive features of French-speaking life in all parts of Canada.

As an associate producer, you will help set program objectives, develop content, arrange the participation of interviewees, creative staff and other contributors, as well as perform production and administrative duties. Naturally, you will be working in a stimulating, demanding environment where teamwork is both essential and rewarding.

What you bring:

  • University degree in a relevant field or the equivalent
  • Minimum two years’ relevant experience during which you have become familiar with the fields of journalism, IT, and broadcasting technologies
  • Knowledge of iNews, Avid, Dalet + and Sonart is considered an asset
  • Good technical and production skills
  • Extensive general knowledge
  • Ability to generate creative production ideas
  • Leadership skills
  • Ability to work well on a team
  • Ability to create and maintain a network of professional contacts
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Keen interest in other broadcasting platforms, such as radio and the Web
  • Fluency in French, spoken and written; functional bilingualism (French/English) required
  • Willingness to work varying shifts and overtime
  • Excellent understanding of the show’s mandate
  • Capable of uncovering original Canadian stories
  • Good judgement in selecting guest for the show
