What you do:
Provide news coverage for Télévision de Radio-Canada. Provide reports and interviews/talkbacks primarily for current/public affairs programs and newscasts. Contribute to other French Television programming and other media of Radio-Canada.
For reference purposes, this position will be assigned mainly to the Information TV, but the incumbent may be required to work on multiple platforms.
Qualifications:
- University degree or general knowledge acquired by experience;
- Ten (10) years’ experience in broadcast journalism (regular and feature reporting);
- Ability to conduct interviews for broadcast;
- Solid command of French;
- Excellent knowledge of English;
- Knowledge of a third language an asset;
- In-depth knowledge of the history and politics of the area covered;
- Knowledge of CBC’s journalistic standards and practices;
- Comfortable behind the microphone;
- High degree of independence/initiative;
- Able to analyze, synthesize and think critically about complex topics;
- Able to work well under pressure;
- Solid command of communications techniques specific to television, and of production and broadcasting techniques;
- Available for frequent travel;
- Valid driver’s licence;
- Position requires the ability to adapt to difficult working conditions (e.g., long hours, unstable surroundings;
- Candidates must pass a medical exam;
- Candidates must submit a letter of interest before the selection committee meets.
Candidates may be subjected to knowledge and skills testing.
