CBC is currently seeking a dynamic Host for Téléjournal Alberta to perform a variety of tasks associated with the preparation and on-air presentation of program material. Uner the guidance of the Executive Producer, you will contribute to the planning, design and organization of the program, propose program ideas, conduct interviews on or off air, and interact with program participants.
Function:
On a continuing and regular basis, performs a leading role in one or more regional or local programs on radio or television. Alternatively, performs a similar role in a radio or television program originating on the network but targeted at a specialized or modest audience according to the norms of the medium. Performs a variety of tasks associated with the preparation and on-air presentation of program material on radio and/or television. The Host can be involved in the development and execution of the program and the direction of the program can often be influenced by his/her specialized knowledge and performance capabilities. Work is governed by CBC programming and/or journalistic policies and standards but there is a requirement for creativity, initiative and independent judgment. Work regularly involves the co-ordination of the activities of others.

- A university degree or equivalent.
- Five years of comparable and relevant experience that demonstrates knowledge of the broadcasting industry and an understanding and awareness of issues and events particular to the region and/or the type of program being hosted.
- Ability to provide live on-air reports and interviews.
- Excellent reporting, interviewing and writing skills.
- Critical thinking and analytical abilities.
- Creative, flexible and self-motivated.
- Ability to contribute effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work various shifts and overtime.
- Proven ability to work in a high-pressure, tight-deadline environment
- Excellent writing skills
- Good presence and self-assurance on air
- Excellent delivery
