The least flattering news clip of the summer:

• CBC has ordered a pilot for a TV version of a “popular” Canadian movie seven full years after it came out (Men with Brooms, Ari Lantos producing).
• The action-adventure genre, a staple of male television viewing, will now undergo Telefilm-style feminization (“Tangled… to feature a female lead”) even as CBC Television is overrun with girl shows already.
• Somebody named Kirstine Stewart (no relation) puts foot in mouth thus: “We’re solidly number two.”
